Recall coverage report
Official pet safety coverage, without broadening a notice to a whole brand.
US food-recall decisions start on the FDA’s live recalls and advisories pages. The exact-ID FDA/FSA reports remain separate from the newly imported CPSC non-food pet-product projection. The openFDA download manifest contributes export coverage metadata only; its full changing partition corpus remains gated.

Coverage boundary
Absence is not clearance.
The openFDA search is intentionally narrow and is not a substitute for the live FDA Recalls & Withdrawals or Outbreaks & Advisories pages. Stored US and UK records are not combined by name.
The FSA API covers alerts from January 2018. HungryPets applies an explicit pet-use selection to the saved UK snapshot. Always open the relevant live official notice and match product, pack and batch before acting.
Reviewed CPSC dog/cat accessory recalls
Official file version 2026-08-21The unified R2 importer completed the official 10,017-row CPSC file on Aug 24, 2026. The projection checks only the official recall heading and product name against nine reviewed dog/cat accessory phrases. Food recalls, children’s pretend-pet toys, brand collisions and generic animal imagery are excluded.

openFDA export inventory
Manifest updated Aug 22, 2026These are official openFDA export counts and dates from the unified R2 manifest imported on Aug 25, 2026. They describe upstream datasets, not HungryPets product records and not confirmed pet-food recalls.
| Official data product | Export date | Source records | Partitions | HungryPets role |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Food enforcement | 29,310 | 1 | Coverage metadata only | |
| Food adverse events | 151,589 | 1 | Coverage metadata only | |
| Animal & veterinary adverse events | 1,357,337 | 158 | Coverage metadata only |
The official manifest is enabled, but a complete refresh requires atomically replacing hundreds of changing partitions.
Add manifest-driven generation retention before enabling the full medical/event corpus; never mix partitions from different exports.
Adjacent evidence join audit
Updated 25 Aug 2026| Evidence | What is held | Decision for recall pages |
|---|---|---|
| Adverse events | Official US animal/veterinary and food-event export metadata; record bodies gated | Kept separate. A report is not a confirmed recall, causation finding or product score. |
| CPSC pet accessories | 9 exact reviewed non-food recall identities | Shown as a separate US product-safety class; never joined to a food or broadened to a brand. |
| Open pet-food labels | 15,136 audited rows; 204 strong-label rows | Used on label/product reports only. The two FDA recall UPCs have no exact match in the product stores. |
| Ingredient explanations | Bounded PubChem identifiers and computed properties | No publishable recall join. The only exact held ingredient overlap returned no usable compound record. |
| Ownership and history | Open brand/owner identity records | No inference from a recalling-firm name. One reviewed pet-brand identity does not support a page class. |
| Prices and stockists | Dated catalogue offers plus a thin historical open-price sample | Exact product offers remain separate and volatile; none is attached to these recall IDs. |
| Recyclable packaging | No verified pet-pack material or local recycling-instruction layer | No recycling claim is published. Pack format alone does not prove recyclability. |
